Developers take a walk in the clouds

by Kara Jondal January 13 2012

Developers are looking toward the public cloud as a top development platform this year. According to Zend Technologies, 61% of 3,335 surveyed developers said they expect to use a public cloud for their future projects. Due to the excitement, inexperienced developers are rushing to gain cloud skills.

The types of public cloud projects developers expect to work on this year are mobile developments, cloud-based developments and big data work. Roughly half of those surveyed by Zend also said they will work on APIs and social media integration.

Here at Xtreme, we offer two cloud computing assessments aimed to help companies move from an outdated IT infrastructure environment to a virtualized environment. First, our cloud readiness assessment identifies how ready a company’s infrastructure, software and custom applications are for the cloud. Second, our cloud suitability assessment defines if private or public cloud options are a realistic goal for a company’s infrastructure.

If you have any questions regarding cloud computing assessments or are interested to see if cloud computing is the right option for your company, please contact Xtreme Consulting Group at info@xtremeconsulting.com
