Effort in Recessionary Times

by Greg Rankich November 04 2008

As the economy teeters between good and bad times, one questions looms for everyone: What’s the best course of action?

On a personal level, we all seeing the unprecedented housing crash sapping households’ wealth and confidence while putting an enormous strain on the worldwide banking system. Will this slide continue? No one can know for sure because the US has never seen such a long slide before. All we can do as homeowners is hope the usual remedies like - rate cuts, deficit spending, and international investments – will pull us through to a brighter tomorrow.

For Xtreme, the economy slow down has shown its ugly head. Some of our clients are postponing projects or looking to cut some of the services we provide to ensure they meet budgetary needs. While we are still growing as a company overall, the slowdown is evident. So the question is – What’s the best course of action for Xtreme? This is a question we have kicked around and realize, the answer is – keep doing what we are doing – provide the best possible service at very competitive rates. Our clients turn to Xtreme to help them realize the best return for their budgets and in this economy, that fact becomes ever so important. Here is a good article I read about what tech-industry CEO’s are saying about the economy. Happy reading!

On a very positive note, Xtreme Consulting Group was named the #1 Fastest-Growing Private Company by Puget Sound Business Journal. The Fastest-Growing Private Companies program was launched 14 years ago by the Puget Sound Business Journal to identify and recognize companies speeding to the top of their industries.  To be eligible, companies must: be privately held and headquartered in Washington; have at least $500,000 in net revenue in 2005; show an overall growth from 2005 to 2007 fiscal years; and agree to have their CPA confirm their net operating revenues with Puget Sound Business Journal and accounting partner Grant Thornton. The list of companies was very impressive indeed and we are definetly proud that we were highlighted as #1. Not sure we can make it two years in a row, but if keep doing what we do and delivering great solutions for our clients, I am sure we will do just fine.
