Hi and welcome to my very first blog. I have to admit I’m a little unsure, yet excited, about this whole blogging thing.  The whole idea of writing to an unknown and possibly nonexistent audience seems – I don’t know – a little narcissistic.  Kind of mentally ill?  I mean, it’s very similar to what I do, day in and day out, inside my head.  But now here I am, typing it out. So I hope I live up to your expectations over time and maybe even provide some valuable information!

Just a few word about me, Xtreme, and this blog. My name is Greg Rankich and I CEO, President and Co-Founder of Xtreme Consulting Group based in Redmond, Washington. I received my college degree and MBA from Washington State University and am a huge Cougar fan. Xtreme was founded in 2005 and quickly has grown to almost 200 employees and independent contractors in three short years. 2008 has been a banner year for Xtreme! First we were selected as the #2 Best Small Business to work for in Washington by Washington CEO magazine (under 100 employees at time of survey). I was then honored as a Puget Sound Business Journal “40 under 40” selection. In late October, we will be listed as one of the top 10 fastest growing private companies in the state of Washington. A true reflection of the great people that have chosen to work for Xtreme and our clients that continue to put faith in our company and our services.

The goal of my blog is to provide various insights into Xtreme, the job market, working at Microsoft, career guidance, and so on. Our blog site will also feature blogs from our technical staff, recruiters, and anyone else with something to say. So check back often as I and other Xtreme members try to bring some perils of wisdom to the world wide web!
